Celtic move clear at the top
By Padraig Ryan
Nenagh Celtic moved clear at the top of the NT&DL Premier Division with a 3-0 win over Thurles Town in Thurles Greyhound Stadium on Sunday.
Celtic are now unbeaten in seven games and are surely favourites now for the title. Szymon Popiela kept up his excellent scoring form with another goal here while Brian Mitchell grabbed a brace to put Henry Newman’s side into a comfortable position in the title race.
Division 1
Cloughjordan consolidated their place at the top of division 1 with a 3-1 win away to Rearcross.
Joe Callaghan scored another brace for his side while centre back Bryan Williams kept up his remarkable season with Clough’s third. Rearcross scored a consolation through Eamonn Devitt but it was not enough to stop Cloughjordan moving clear at the top with games in hand on their closest rivals.
