Nenagh Eire Og outscored Burgess 2-4 to 1-1 in the last ten minutes to claim victory and insure a place in the quarter final as they finished in top position in group 1 following a well contested County Senior Hurling Championship round 3 clash last Sunday.

With Loughmore/Castleiney having easily accounted for Upperchurch/Drombane in the other group 1 game on Saturday, victory for Nenagh was a must and with nine of their players getting on the scoresheet, they portrayed the greater ability to win and in truth never looked like losing.

Nenagh dominated from start to finish by taking hold of the game on a number of occasions only for Burgess to come back each time. However, when danger lurked, Eire Og, who could create scoring chances much easier and their final flourish was a clear example of what they could do.
