Kiladangan earn their way into North Final

Kiladangan remain on course for a fourth North Tipperary Senior Hurling title in this decade after holding off the challenge of Templederry Kenyons in this entertaining semi-final on Sunday.

Tipped as a high scoring affair in advance, it lived up to its billing with both sets of forwards having the upperhand although it was Kiladangan's defence who managed to get enough joy to get them over the line.

They have to withstand a late Templederry revival as the Kenyon's men scored two goals to really put the pressure on Kiladangan but Brian Lawlor's charges were always able to keep the scoreboard ticking over and that was the ultimate difference between the sides.

1-28 in just over sixty minutes of play is fair scoring with 1-22 coming from play in a dominant forward display where Paul Flynn was once again to the fore with 1-5, all from play.

Billy Seymour's outstanding autumn continued with a five point haul from play, added to five from frees as he took over those duties from Tadgh Gallagher whose best work was done in the half forward line along side Willie Connors who was more prominent than in recent games and reveled at centre forward.

If the Kiladangan forwards weren't strong enough already through the course of the championship, it was added to by Dan O'Meara who also scored five from play in a superb contribution. O'Meara was held back from the North Intermediate final on Saturday because Joe Gallagher was unable to start because of illness and the Kiladangan mentors decision to start him ahead of Ruairi Gleeson was justified not only with his scoring but also his workrate.
