Thurles Sarsfields set up a date with Toomevara in the County Intermediate Camogie Championship final after they proved too strong for Kilruane MacDonaghs in the semi-final on Sunday.

Kilruane got off to a flying start with two points in the opening minute before Thurles opened their account in the fifth minute.

Sarah McKevitt sent out a Thurles warning shot when she goaled two minutes later while on the quarter hour, Laura Loughnane whipped home their second goal after Sarah Stakelum’s effort at a point came back off the upright and back into play where Loughnane was waiting.

Two further points from Kilruane kept them in touch but matters were only getting worse for them.
