Toomevara edged into the County Intermediate Camogie final in a hard fought battle with Newport/Ballinahinch on Sunday.

Toomevara, who were the red hot favourites, roared into a 1-5 lead without reply over the opening 18 minutes. Playing with the aid of a strong breeze, Toome had four points on the board before Mary Grace’s tenth minute goal put the icing on the cake of their impressive start.

A further pointed free and Toome appeared too good for a Newport side struggling to settle and eventually did when Chloe Quigley broke through for their first score in the 19th minute.
Toomevara tagged on another two points and looked well in control before Newport settled and got to grips with the game.
