Defending champions Killavilla United secured a comfortable but crucial 6-1 win over Thurles Town in the Greyhound Stadium on Sunday in their continued quest to retain their title.

'Villa had the lethal Paul Kirwan to thank for two of their goals with Mickey Ryan also grabbing a brace for the Roscrea side. A strike from Tom Aherne and an own goal rounded off the scoring for Killavilla who have crucial games against title rivals Nenagh Celtic and Borroway Rovers still to play. Victory in those will see David Nash’s side crowned champions for the second season in a row.

Two difficult results in a row for Thurles Town following their exit from the Tipperary Cup last weekend to Division 1 opposition - their consolation was scored by Dylan Grayson.
