A second half Lorrha surge just wasn’t enough to see off the challenge of a faster and slicker St Rita's of Fethard in their first adult county final in 20 years in the County Junior 'B' Camogie Championship final on Saturday.

The champions had the initiative to find the leaks and got through for two first half goals to give them a commanding half time lead and while they were hanging on for a finish, were full value for their victory.

Lorrha, beaten in their second final in a row, found it hard to start the year and didn’t field for the league. However, they entered championship and did well to progress to the final but it’s a big let-down for them where no doubt they’ll be hugely disappointed with the overall quality of their performance and their missed chances which was to cost them in the end.

They did mount a gallant second half comeback outscoring Fethard 0-6 to 0-2 but the champions had enough damage done to carry them over the line with four points to spare.
