Drom & Inch will be aiming to turn a first county senior camogie title in eight years into a Munster one also when they take on Clare champions Scariff-Ogonnelloe in the final this Saturday.

The Mid Tipp club won the eighth county title last month in dethroning Burgess/Duharra and on two previous occasions have turned it into Munster success.

Drom's first county title was in 1974 and they went onto complete a three-in-a-row with their fourth coming in 1982. They had to wait until 2003 to win their 5th senior title and the following year 2004, current stalwart Joanne Ryan captained the Tipperary county team to Munster, National league and All Ireland championship success.
Drom came back with the senior title in 2008 and topped the year by clinching their first ever Munster title but were beaten in the All Ireland final by the Antrim champions O’Donovan Rossa. Drom had to wait three years to win their 7
th senior title followed by their second Munster title. Oulart the Ballagh of Wexford beat them in the All Ireland final in Croke Park.

Drom are well represented with the county teams at all grades and this year Niamh Treacy was crowned Intermediate player of the league while goalkeeper Caoimhe Bourke was nominated for an All Star award.
After scraping to a one point victory in the Munster semi-final against Sarsfields of Cork, Drom are within touching distance of a third provincial title.

Not one of the Drom girls could be faulted during their dominant success in the county final and again in the Munster semi-final where the Tipp club girls ground out a 0-12 to 1-8 away from home. They have a steady, well drilled team who are all working as one unit and their manager Pat Ryan will no doubt be looking for even more from the girls on Saturday.
“We are in a good place now after that win but it’s a tough place to go and get a victory, but we did get one and that’s all that matters,” he said.

We were all delighted that the girls served up an awesome display of character to be fair to them,” he said.
