Hogan scoops prestigious Curragh Award
CREPELLO
Denis Hogan crowned a memorable flat season last weekn when he was won the Training Performance of the Year Award at the Curragh Awards, for his handling of Make A Challenge.
Purchased cheaply in England as a lowly rated maiden, Denis Hogan transformed him into a top sprinter who landed no less than six races during the campaign three of them coming at headquarters.
Great credit is due the the trainer and his advisers for the way they can spot potential in horses that have either lost their way or failed to see a racecourse and rejuvenate them before landing some fine touches for the stable.
Thurles
The cheers Hogan received had barley died down when he was back in the winners enclosure at Thurles on Thursday as he saddled Mossy White to gain a narrow victory in the two mile and six 80-94 handicap hurdle and for good measure he did the steering himself.
