Sprint legend Rosbirr Ranger Stars at Shelbourne

TRAPRISE

The annual Night Of Stars festival of racing took centre stage at Shelbourne Park on Saturday with eight one-off championship races offering €10,000 to the winner over varying distances.

A night where elite stars of the sport clashed at every turn, the highlight of the action for local supporters again came over the 350-yard trip and it is surely now time to bestow legendary status on the finest exponent of the sprinting art as Christopher Delaney & Paul Pardy’s Rosbirr Ranger punctuated yet another astounding season with an emphatic performance to land the Ted Hegarty 350.

With a glittering career that has been charted in these pages with immense pride, the Delaney trained superstar boasts an unmatched CV and in the face of injury while reaching veteran status at four years of age this past September, his defence of Mullingar’s Fair Warrior title just three weeks ago was an near incredulous feat.

A wonderful partnership between an exceptionally talented greyhound and the youthful exuberance of his expert handler has seen Rosbirr Ranger maintain an astoundingly high level of performance throughout his career and his latest meticulous preparations saw our local stalwart present as good as ever on Saturday night.
