Funding for Tipp animal welfare organisations
Funding of €94,000 has been awarded to local Tipperary animal welfare organisations, Fine Gael General Election candidate Mary Newman Julian has confirmed.
She said: “My colleague, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, has announced funding of €94,000 for organisations in Tipperary. These payments will be made with immediate effect.
“This year’s allocation to organisations throughout the country is the largest ever and comes at a time of year when animal welfare organisations are quite often under the most pressure.
“As a vet, I know first-hand of the outstanding work that the staff and volunteers at organisations such as Roscrea SPCA, The Haven Rescue Roscrea and Tipperary Friends of Animals SPCA Nenagh do, and I would like to take this opportunity to recognise their very important contribution.”
