St Mary's Nenagh into Munster final

CAMOGIE: Munster Post Primary Schools Senior 'B' Camogie Final Preview

St Mary's Secondary School Nenagh are preparing for a second consecutive Munster Post Primary Schools Senior 'B' Camogie final this Saturday.

St Mary's have home venue for the Munster final against the winners of St Mary's Midleton on Saturday, 11th January at 1.00pm in Puckane.

In the group stages of the competition, St Mary's had victories over Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher and Glanmire Community College to progress to the quarter final where the Nenagh girls beat Colaiste Mhuire from Ennis. The match was played in very poor weather conditions in Ennis and it was only at the end that St Mary's pulled away winning 6-6 to 1-8.
St Mary's had home advantage in the Munster semi final against Laurel Hill from Limerick just before Christmas. This was a fantastic match with two very strong skilful teams giving it their all. St Mary's got a great start and lead by five points at half time. However, Laurel Hill got back into it in the second half and reduced the lead to a point at one stage. The Nenagh girls came good again and ended up winning by five points, 2-9 to 2-4.

The St Mary's team had a large number of survivors from last years team that were defeated in the Munster final by St Flannan's College Ennis, before recovering to reach the the All Ireland Final where they fell narrowly to Castlecomer Community School.
