Vincent Hogan to be the special guest at Guardian Sports Awards
Chief Sports writer of the Irish Independent Vincent Hogan will be the special guest at the annual Nenagh Guardian Sports Awards which will be held at the Great National Abbey Court Hotel on Friday 31st January.
The Nenagh native has been one of the leading sports writers in the country for the last forty years, having attended all the major sporting events in that time including Olympic Games, World Cups, Golfing majors and much much more, including All Ireland finals here at home.
His colourful approach to his stories has made him a must read in the Irish Independent, with his ability to flesh out a story or an interview in a forensic but respectful manner.
He has also ghost written a number of autobiographies, including Tipperary's own Nicky English, entitled Beyond the Tunnel in 1996.
He has also penned books with GAA greats Henry Shefflin, Colm Cooper, and Davy Fitzgerald former Ireland rugby head coach Eddie O'Sullivan and particularly Republic of Ireland football great Paul McGrath, whose book 'Back From the Brink' won both the William Hill Irish Sports Book of the Year in 2006 and British Sports Autobiography of the year in 2007.
