Polling stations will remain open until 10pm.

Good turnout as voting underway

Voting is under way since 7am in the 2020 General Election with polling stations across the country remaining open until 10pm.

Voters are going to the polls to fill 159 of the 160 seats in the 33rd Dáil – five seats make up the Tipperary constituency with the outgoing TDs all hoping to be returned.

The outgoing Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl is automatically returned in Kildare South.

For the first time since 1918, voting is taking place on a Saturday and the turnout has been good across both the county and country so far.
