Nenagh Ormond suffered yet another home defeat in their efforts to avoid the drop, this time to UL Bohemian, in a match played in truly appalling conditions last Friday night.

So bad were the conditions, that you could scarcely tell the difference between the teams in the slush of muck, but UL Bohs were the better team on the night and fully deserving of the win, as Nenagh slumped to their 11th defeat of the season.

With the howling wind and rain favoring Nenagh in the first half, Ormond looked to start strongly and they had the first scoring chance of the game after five minutes; a John Healy break cutting through the UL Bohs defence to give Nenagh territory, and with Bohs infringing on the floor, Conor O’Brien had a chance to give his side the lead but his penalty attempt dragged to the right as the opportunity went abegging.

Staggeringly, that was Nenagh’s only scoring opportunity for the whole game as they failed to utilize the wind as UL Boh’s pack began to stamp their authority on their Nenagh counterparts, with the Limerick men carrying well in the tough conditions.
