Singer/musician Tadhg Harrington

New single from Tadhg, who has strong Roscrea links

They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for Tadhg Harrington who boasts strong Roscrea links. An inspirational artist, Tadhg has earned his reputation as a talented musician and skillful performer.
Tadhg owes much of his interest in music to his family, especially his father Tim Harrington and brother Bill and cousins who are also accomplished musicians.
From an early age Tadhg was surrounded and submerged into the wonderous thrills and calming melodies of traditional Irish music.
Tadhg first embarked on his musical journey at the young age of seven in the Wexford School of Music by learning the piano where he learned much of the skills of the old European masters such as Beethoven and Mozart.
The next part of his musical journey took him to Cistercian College Roscrea where he was a member of all the musical groups, such as the trad group, chamber choir, school orchestra and musical society.
A member of the college orchestra, Tadhg went on to expand his musical knowledge by mastering the oboe and held the role of first oboeist in the orchestra.
His flair for performing may also be a product of Cistercian College Roscrea where he got the opportunity to star in and co-direct a number of the musicals performed in the school. This is where he acquired his skills and knowledge of music from making unique choral passages to understanding a tierce de Picardie.
Tadhg received the High Achievement Award from the Royal Irish Academy in Music for the oboe.
Tadhg has performed in some of Ireland’s most prestigious halls of music -The National Concert Hall along with The National Opera House Wexford. He has performed with a wide genre of musicians - from jazz artists to pop divas and bluegrass band.
This has allowed him to experience the distinctive twists and styles of music which is a fusion of his style, which can be heard clearly in his new single 'Feelings'.
It is the unique blend of knowledge and passion for music which gives Tadhg a fresh and unique style.
His debut single, 'Feelings', has been well received in his first confident steps in the music industry.
