Tipperary pays its respects to the late Detective Garda Horkan
Garda Staff, Garda Reserves and retired members of An Garda Siochana turned out in great numbers at Garda Stations at 12 noon today throughout Tipperary to mark the minute's silence in honour of the late Detective Garda Horkan.
Members of the public also turned up to show their respect for the late Detective Garda, who was tragically killed in Castlerea, Co Roscommon on Wednesday. In Newport, the sun shone as Gardai stood to attention in an impeccably observed minute's silence saluting their brave colleague, who lost his life, .
The Funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Detective Garda Colm Horkan RIP was celebratedat 12 noon, in Saint James Church, Charlestown, Co Mayo, in the Diocese of Achonry. The chief celebrant of the Mass was Monsignor Tommy Johnston, Parish Priest of Charlestown, who also delivered the homily.
