Clough' museum re-opens and will benefit from CD launch

The Thomas MacDonagh Museum in Cloughjordan has re-opened after being closed since March because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. 

The opening hours from now on will be 2-4pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The collection on display in the museum has been extended to include recently acquired material on Thomas and the MacDonagh family. Also on display are a series of framed photographs of wildlife and local scenic areas by well-known local photographer Andy Whelan.
Meanwhile, Martin Butler from Cloughjordan, but now based in Boston, recently released his CD entitled, "The Woodlands Edge", which features the poetry of Thomas MacDonagh and the songs that inspired him.

The poems and songs on the CD are brought to life by over 60 artists from both sides of the Atlantic. 
There are 31 tracks in total, featuring musicians and performers such as  Paddy Moloney from The Chieftains, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Aedin Moloney, Martin O'Malley, the former governor of Maryland, and a host of well known musicians from Ireland and America. 
Among those reading poems on the CD are well-known actor Patrick Bergin, Martin Maguire and members of the MacDonagh family - Turlach and Dylan MacDonagh, Muriel McAuley, Michelle Drysdale and Lucille Redmond. 
The CD can be purchased at the MacDonagh Museum and is available via iTunes. 
Martin kindly donated a substantial number of the CDs to the museum and the proceeds of the sale of the CDs will go towards the running costs of the MacDonagh Museum.
