Famous people of Nenagh proposal
Cathaoirleach of Nenagh Municipal District Cllr Séamie Morris has suggested using Government grant funding to provide Nenagh 800-themed awnings and murals around the town.
"Covid-19 brought a new reality to us all, particularly when we all realised that we should embrace what we have close to us rather than travelling long distances to shop," Cllr Morris said in his proposal to Nenagh Municipal District.
"It is my belief that we should further enhance our town of Nenagh to make the town more attractive and to enhance our footfall for our struggling businesses. The Government have realised this with the new Town and Village Renewal scheme, which includes public realm improvements and outdoor furniture and awnings.
"I am asking the council to ask our newly appointed municipal grant application specialist to look at an application that will include awnings and murals themed with the Nenagh 800 logo and dedicated to famous Nenagh people over the 800 years. I believe this will massively enhance our public realm and attract even more footfall to the town," Cllr Morris proposed.
