Funding for Rathcabbin church

Funding to stabilise the ruins of medieval Pallas Church near Rathcabbin was welcomed by local councillors Michael O'Meara and Ger Darcy at the December meeting of Nenagh Municipal District.

The church is one of two local heritage sites to receive State funding for improvement works under the July Jobs Stimulus package. Community Monuments funding of €34,500 has been allocated to Pallas Church along with €15,000 for Carney Castle near Borrisokane.

The meeting was informed that the Heritage Office had been looking for a funding stream for Pallas Church for some time. The project has been divided into two phases and will be complete in 2021.
