Dog owners can be held responsible for their animals in relation to compensation.

Sheep killed in Ballywilliam

Dog owners are being reminded of their responsibilities following a sheep kill in the Ballywilliam-Carrigatoher area over the Christmas weekend.

It is understood that one ewe was killed while serious injuries were inflicted on others during the incident. A number of sheep were still missing a week later.

A further incident of dogs worrying sheep was reported in Ballywilliam on Tuesday of last week. A spokesperson at Nenagh Garda Station said this an ongoing problem and pointed out that dog owners can be held responsible for their animals in relation to compensation.

Elsewhere, gardaĆ­ are investigating the theft of a number of items from a vehicle while a delivery was underway at Emmel, Cloughjordan, last Tuesday week. In a separate incident later that night a male was arrested under the Public Order Act at Millersbrook, Nenagh.
