Dog owners can be held responsible for their animals in relation to compensation.

Sheep killed in Ballywilliam

Dog owners are being reminded of their responsibilities following a sheep kill in the Ballywilliam-Carrigatoher area over the Christmas weekend.

It is understood that one ewe was killed while serious injuries were inflicted on others during the incident. A number of sheep were still missing a week later.

A further incident of dogs worrying sheep was reported in Ballywilliam on Tuesday of last week. A spokesperson at Nenagh Garda Station said this an ongoing problem and pointed out that dog owners can be held responsible for their animals in relation to compensation.

Elsewhere, gardaí are investigating the theft of a number of items from a vehicle while a delivery was underway at Emmel, Cloughjordan, last Tuesday week. In a separate incident later that night a male was arrested under the Public Order Act at Millersbrook, Nenagh.
