Advance notice of Birdhill-Ballina road closure

A report in this week's Nenagh Guardian (page 4) concerning the new bridge over the River Shannon made reference to a start date of February 1st for the preparatory works for this project on the road between Birdhill and Ballina (R494).

This date is incorrect. It should have read February 15th.

The preparatory works are set to start in February and Tipperary County Council plan to close the R494 from February 15th to March 1st. Alternative routes for travel between Birdhill and Ballina will be signposted.

We would like to apologise for the confusion concerning the start date of the works.
