Tipp face Cork on the double in Camogie League openers
The Littlewoods Ireland National Camogie League will get underway on the weekend of 15-16 June.
With the restricted timeframe, the nine Division 1 teams has been divided into three groups of three teams with Tipperary grouped regionally with Munster rivals Cork and Waterford. Bill Mullaney’s charges will begin away to Cork on the opening weekend before welcoming Waterford to the Ragg on 22-23 May.
Tipp will have a bye in round 3 with the top two in the group progressing to the knockout stages where two group winners will progress straight to the semi-finals while the remaining group winners plus three group runners-up will play in two quarter finals on 5-6 June. The three bottom teams in each group will playoff in relegation.
After being prevented from taking part in the 2020 championship, the Tipperary intermediate team will return to competitive action in Division 1 of the National League next Monday.
Cian Treacy’s charges will begin at home to Cork on 15-16 June before travelling to Galway a week later before wrapping up their group at home to Kerry on 29-30 May. The top two teams from the group will progress to the quarter finals on 5-6 June.
Both the Division 1 & 2 League semi-finals will be played over the weekend of 12/13 June with the finals a week later.
