Assault investigations in Nenagh and Roscrea

Gardaí are investigating a number of what have been described as serious assaults in Nenagh and Roscrea over recent days.

In Nenagh, gardaí responded to an incident at a premises on Kenyon St at around 11pm last Friday. Two males were reportedly injured in an assault; both were taken to hospital.

In Roscrea, gardaí are investigating what has been described as a "large-scale Public Order incident" that occurred in the town around midnight last Saturday/Sunday. Two males were arrested.

Also in Roscrea, a male was injured in a reported assault at Main St between 1.15 and 1.30am on Sunday. The injured party required medical treatment.

Gardaí are harvesting CCTV footage and appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Separately, members of the Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search in a Nenagh housing estate last Saturday. Suspected cocaine with an estimated value of more than €500 was seized in a vehicle, along with a quantity of cash. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Later on Saturday, gardaí conducting a traffic checkpoint in the vicinity of the M7 outside Nenagh seized suspected cocaine valued at €2,000. A number of other items were also seized.
