Man charged with weapon offence in Nenagh

A man has been charged under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act following an incident in Nenagh this week.

Gardaí arrested the male on Kickham St at around 11.30pm last Monday. He was detained at Nenagh Garda Station and questioned over the alleged possession of an offensive weapon

Elsewhere, gardaí are investigating damage caused to a vehicle parked outside business premises at Dublin Road, Nenagh, on Tuesday of last week, March 22. It is understood that the bodywork of the vehicle was scratched some time between 10 and 11am. CCTV footage is being harvested and witness information is sought.

There were three arrests under the Public Order Act in Nenagh Garda District over the last week.

This week gardaí are appealing to motorcyclists to adhere to road safety messages. There have been 10 fatal collisions involving motorcyclists on Irish roads so far this year, that's an average of one in four of all road deaths. Gardaí are advising motorcyclists to reduce their speed and to ensure that all the required personal protective equipment is worn.
