Ballymackey’s Daly selected on ROI Schools squad

Ballymackey FC’s Clodagh Daly has been selected on the Republic of Ireland Schools squad who travel to Newcastle in England next weekend for a five-day tournament.

This season, an extended squad enjoyed two challenge games against Northern Ireland last month in which Daly appeared on both occasions, along with fellow Tipperary native Leah McGrath for St Anne’s Secondary School, Tipperary Town.

The Republic of Ireland will be confident going into their opening game against England on Monday, 11th April. The Republic will then face Northern Ireland the following day. Depending on results in the two groups, there will be the play-offs on Thursday morning. The Republic of Ireland will be anticipating that they’ll be in the hunt for silverware as the competition draws to a conclusion.
