Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship: The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship will commence this Friday 3rd June. Cloughjordan will host a repeat of the League final where Borris-Ileigh will face Roscrea whilst Toomevara will be the venue for Kilruane MacDonaghs against Nenagh Eire Og. Toomevara have a bye in Round 1.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship: The draw for The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship took place last week with the groups as follows:

Group 1 – Nenagh Eire Og, Knockshegowna, Borrisokane, Lorrha

Group 2 – Burgess, Portroe, Templederry Kenyons, Newport, Silvermines

Group 3 – Ballina, Shannon Rovers, Kiladangan, Moneygall

Top two teams from each group to progress to the knockout stages with the first round of games is due to take place over the weekends of June 18th/25th.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling League: The group stages of the North Junior ‘B’ Hurling League concluded last Friday with Silvermines enjoying a tight 1-21 to 1-19 win over Templederry Kenyons in Group 2. This result secured top spot for Silvermines with Kiladangan finished second with both sides progressing to the knockout stage.

The quarter finals will both take place this Saturday at 7.00pm. Lorrha will host Kiladangan whilst Borrisokane will host Newport. Silvermines and Ballina await the winners in the semi-finals which are due to take place on the weekend of Saturday 11th June with the final fixed for Saturday 18th June.

Junior ‘A’ Football Championship: The semi-finals of the North Junior ‘A’ Football Championship took place last Wednesday with victories for both of the away sides. Roscrea-Inane had a 1-11 to 0-9 win over last year’s beaten finalists Portroe whilst a late Darren Moran goal for Kiladangan ensured a 2-5 to 0-7 victory over Newport.

The Final will take place this Wednesday at 7.00pm in Toomevara with Peter Carroll officiating. Kiladangan will be looking for their first North Junior ‘A’ Football title since 2011 whilst Roscrea-Inane last won it in 2014.

Junior ‘B’ Football Championship: The semi-finals of the North Junior ‘B’ Football championship took place last week. On Wednesday, a Mark Kinane goal for Templederry gave them an early lead over Shannon Rovers. However, an excellent second half performance saw the Rovers outscore Templederry by 0-9 to 0-2 which ensured victory for Shannon Rovers on a 0-13 to 1-7 scoreline.

On Thursday, Kilruane MacDonaghs had a comfortable 3-12 to 1-3 win over neighbours Moneygall with Seamus Hennessy, Cian Darcy and Craig Morgan the Kilruane goal scorers.

The final will take place this Wednesday 1st June at 7.00pm in Borrisokane with Pat Murray refereeing.

Under 15: Well done to Silvermines who claimed the North Under 15 ‘B’ football title last week after a 4-13 to 3-6 extra time win over a gallant Burgess side.
