Snooker & Billiards Ireland hold Junior Development Day in Nenagh
Snooker & Billiards Ireland (SBI) held their third National Junior Snooker Developmental Day of the season recently in the Nenagh Social & Snooker Club.
Junior players were invited to attend with Irish National Coach PJ Nolan and some of his team of SBI Coaches to learn some skills of the game.
Nenagh Social & Snooker Club have held a successful Junior Program in 2022. The club have four WPBSA Coaches within their club including the current Irish Amateur champion Brendan O’Donoghue who was on hand to assist the coaching.
Over the years SBI have held Junior Developmental days to encourage more juniors to play the sport.
Training Aids
The latest training aids were used to enhance the learning for the players, like the Blade Cue, Master Doctor, Str8aim G-5 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get him on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in his delivery.
The new Str8aim G-5 was used for the first time on the training day. This new and improved training aid was used by the players including Irish number 1 and National champion Brendan O’Donoghue was he was very impressed with the feedback this aid gives during your stroke.
The players were shown how to develop good fundamentals in the Stance, Grip, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and learn Basic Potting Skills.
The day began with the players playing some snooker routines with PJ Nolan and the SBI coaches giving some tips and advice to the players. The players were then shown how to control the cue ball and then try some specific practice routines.
All the junior players received a medal to remember the day.
