Top entertainment at Nenagh show

This year’s North Tipperary Agricultural Show, which takes place on August 1 (Bank Holiday Monday) takes inspiration from the popular movie ‘The Greatest Showman’, when it comes to the entertainment that we have in store. The show committee has pulled out all the stops in order to deliver the best variety of entertainment, which will keep both young and old entertained for the entirety of the show. The show entertainment will kick off at 11am when we have our own local Zumba instructor Christine Nevin performing live on stage dancing to the music from the Greatest Showman movie.

Live Music

This year we have a very special line-up of live music that includes such a broad variety of music that will not only entertain but inspire the spectators at this year’s show. At 12 noon we have the award winning, rising star in country music, the one and only Aishling Rafferty, who will start performing live on stage accompanied by local musician Noel Ryan, who will provide the music to accompany her sensational voice. Aishling will no doubt be a big hit on show day among the crowd, so please make sure to arrive on time so as to not miss her on stage. Aishling will be singing from 12 noon to 2pm, followed by Bubba Shakespeare, who is another rising star in the music scene. Bubba is a local songwriter/rapper and adds great diversity to our music lineup for the day as his songwriting ability, which reaches out to both young and old combined with his amazing voice is simply such a breath of fresh air.

Bubba will be on stage from 2 – 2.45pm, when we will switch things in an instrumental direction as we have the great pleasure of having the Nenagh Brass Band play live at the show from 2.45 to 3.15pm. As a former trumpet player myself I always have had a soft spot for the sounds of brass instruments and the Nenagh Brass Band’s success over the years has been testament to how popular this band remains to be.

As if things couldn’t get any better we round up our music proceedings with the absolutely brilliant band REV-20, the band whose lead singer is local man Collie Hogan, well known in both the pub scene as well as on the big stage as this band cover versions of the most popular songs sometimes even better than the originals, lead out from by the vocals of Collie Hogan and kept in beat by drummer Mark Ryan along with the other amazing band performers. REV-20 is simply not to missed and will keep the show rocking until well into the evening.

Circus performance

This year’s show, in keeping with our theme will include the amazing Paul Quate, who is a circus performer who travels from Belfast to perform live on show day. Paul will be accompanied by the Cloughjordan Circus club, who will complement Paul’s performance and keep both young and old entertained for the day. We will also have free face painting for children in our community area of the show, and as previously mentioned we have a children’s fancy dress theme at the show, ‘Heroes of the Community’.

Nenagh Classic Car Club

The Nenagh Classic Car Club will have a display of classic and vintage cars at this year’s show. This has proven to be quite popular and has grown in recent years; in fact, the display consisted of over 380 vehicles at the last show in 2019.

This year’s theme is estate cars and we will have a dedicated area for these but we welcome all classic and vintage, cars, tractors, vintage trucks and motorcycles to this year’s show. We will have a number of trophies to present on the day for both the car and motorcycle categories. We are asking that all exhibitors in this section arrive before 12 noon to avoid disappointment.

The only question remaining is will my top hat, ring master jacket and circus cane make an appearance on show day!
