Break-ins to cars in Nenagh district

The windows of three cars were smashed in Doonane, Newport on Wednesday of last week. The owners had parked their vehicles at the secluded scenic spot and gone for a cycle. Gardaí suspect burglary was the motive, but nothing was taken from the vehicles.

A case of criminal damage to a vehicle parked in Silver Street in Nenagh over last weekend is being investigated, as is a similar incident which occurred in Cloughjordan on Wednesday week last, August 17. A man was later questioned in relation to the latter incident also faces a charge of causing damage to a cell at Nenagh Garda Station.

Meanwhile, a large number of valuable tools were taken from a trailer and van parked on the R445 on the approach to Dunkerrin on Saturday last. Sergeant O’ Carroll is urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or may have dashcam footage, to contact the gardaí. The theft occurred between 12.30pm and 1pm. A car is believed to have pulled in at the spot where the trailer and van were parked.
