Nenagh Library’s latest exhibition
Nenagh Library is delighted to welcome back local artist Jacinta Glasgow, who will exhibit with us for the month of September, and cordially invites members of the public to the launch of her latest exhibition, ‘Iontach’, on Tuesday, September 6, at 6.30pm.
Jacinta developed her love of painting and creativity from an early age and has been exhibiting for over 20 years in Ireland and abroad. Largely self-taught with inspiration drawn from local fauna and flora, spirituality and childhood, she paints in a variety of media subjects as diverse as landscapes, waterscapes, portraits, animals, still life and abstracts. Additionally, she creates themed wall murals, photo collage, book cover design, promotional brochures and paintings to commission.
As an artist and healing therapist, Jacinta enjoys the therapeutic creative process. She has trained in art therapy and uses her work to explore the subconscious mind and spiritual dimensions. Using colour to infuse her paintings with joy, love, and healing blessings, she also endeavors to capture a sense of childlike wonder in her work.
“Artworks are a wonderful way of bringing colour, balance and harmony into your home and I hope that my paintings will bring joy, hope and healing to all who visit this exhibition,”said Jacinta. Entitled ‘Iontach’, this exhibition honours her grandfather, Proinsias Mac Giolla Losgaidh (Frank Glasgow), who instilled in his grandchildren a love and appreciation of the Irish language and culture. Aside from her paintings, Jacinta has also included in this exhibition several high-quality fine art archival giclee prints. Printed on Epson Somerset velvet with 100 acid-free materials to protect against tarnishing or fading these, are light-resistant for up to 150 years.
The exhibition will be open to the public during library hours with all paintings and prints for sale. Official launch on Tuesday, September 6, at 6.30pm.
