Rathcabbin’s Shane Broderick was a winner again as the Raymond Loughnane-trained Sphagnum won the two-mile five-furlong handicap hurdle at Downpatrick on Monday week last.

The 3/1 chance, ridden by Denis O'Regan, led over the final flight to record a four and a half-length win over the Tom Gibney-trained Rare Conor.

Greenland was an all-the-way winner at Roscommon on Monday for Aidan O'Brien and Wayne Lordan. A strong favourite, he had plenty in hand at the line in beating the Joseph O'Brien-trained Ma Belle Artiste by two and three-parts of a length.

Another winning favourite to make all the running was the Ben Coen-ridden Free To Party. The Johnny Murtagh-trained shot took the 10-furlong maiden in the colours of the trainer’s wife Orla and Valerie Osborne, beating the Ciaran Murphy-trained Lizzy’s Filly by a head.

Coen again raced up with the pace when taking the 12-furlong handicap on the Peter Fahey-trained Disco Boots. The 15/2 chance led in the early stages and again early in the straight as she won by a cosy four lengths from the Jessica Harrington-trained Adonis.

Ben Coen and Johnny Murtagh were winners again as favourite Chicago Lightening took the eight-furlong claiming race at Gowran Park on Wednesday. The three-year-old made all the running to beat Michael Halford’s Je T’ai Porte by three and a quarter lengths and was subsequently claimed by trainer Shane Duffy with the runner-up set to join Gavin Cromwell.

Joseph O'Brien landed the finale as Shane Crosse’s mount Zaynudin ran away with the 14-furlong maiden. The favourite came home all of ten lengths clear of Pahlavi, a 23rd success of the season for the winning jockey.

Nenagh trainer Michael O’Meara and owner William Kennedy landed the nine-furlong maiden at Clonmel on Thursday with Roman Bull.

Ridden by Billy Lee, the four-year-old led passing the two-furlong pole and scored by a length and a half from the Joseph O'Brien-trained favourite Six Feet Apart.

Jake Coen brought his season’s tally to 20 winners when landing the handicap over the extended 10 furlongs on Blackcastle Storm at Down Royal on Friday. In the colours of the Up The Bog Road Syndicate, he made much of the running on the Matthew Smith-trained five-year-old and scored by half a length from favourite Yokkell, trained by Jarlath Fahey.

Coen’s older brother Ben partnered Silmaniya to a last-gasp success in the five-furlong nursery handicap at Navan on Saturday. The Johnny Murtagh-trained favourite edged out Jessica Harrington’s Polar Bear by a neck, a 38th winner of the term for the winning jockey.

In the colours of Tom Egan, the Nick Stokes-trained Curraheen Princess recorded her sixth success with a three-parts of a length win over Edward Lynam’s Tide Of Time in the five-furlong handicap. The Joe Doyle-ridden chance made all the running for her third course and distance of the year.

Ross O'Sullivan took the second leg of the 10-furlong apprentice handicap with Mr Rango. The four-year-old credited jockey Tom Kiely Marshall with his fourth career success when winning by two and a quarter lengths from the Terence O'Brien-trained Speckled Meadow for owners John Harney and Paul Brophy.

Andy Slattery and Cian Quirke had a winner at Wexford earlier on Saturday where Kellie’s Dream took the two-mile handicap hurdle in the colours of Dr Ronan Tynan.
