League and Cup wins for Nenagh and Newport

Nenagh made it five games unbeaten when they beat Carew Park 3-1 on Thursday evening in Nenagh.
The result, while continuing an impressive run, also moves Nenagh into sixth place in the Premier table with just two games remaining before the league splits into top six and bottom six.
Carew Park took the lead through Arron Nunan with his seventh of the season. Kieran Barr levelled the tie shortly after and an own goal tilted the tie Nenagh’s way. Matt Spain made sure of the spoils against a Carew side who finished with nine men.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Ballynanty Rovers shocked leaders Fairview Rangers winning 4-1 thanks to goals from Josh Adams (2), Adrian Power and Eddie Byrnes. Darragh Rainsford replied for an out of sorts Fairview XI.
Premier League holders, Pike Rovers maintained their 100% record, but only just, at St Nessan’s College on Tuesday when they narrowly defeated a hard-working Coonagh side thanks to a second half strike from Paudie Murphy.
Lower Leagues
In the Premier ‘A’ League, goals from Brian O’Sullivan, Paul Ryan and Jay Ryan helped Newport to a 3-1 win over Aisling Annacotty. Darren Coughlan replied.
In Division 2A, goals from Nenagh’s Casey Finn and Kieran O’Brien beat fellow Tipperary side Newport ‘B’ to keep their title challenge on track.
Munster Junior Cup
Nenagh AFC progressed to the second round of the Munster Junior Cup following a 2-0 away win over Mungret Regional on Sunday.
The Tipperary side have been in a fine vein of form and Sunday’s result makes it six game unbeaten for Cillian Fitzpatrick’s side.
Adam Ryan put the visitors ahead just after the half hour mark and an evenly balanced tie was not settled until the dying minutes when Dylan Morrison tacked on a crucial second for the winners
Newport Town also progressed as proved much too strong for Lisnagry ‘B’, running in twelve goals. Brian O’Sullivan, Luke Ryan, and Christy Doyle scored three apiece with Darren Collins, Dan Egan and Elliot Slattery making up the tally.
Fairview Rangers reached the second round thanks to a 7-1 win over Aisling Annacotty ‘D’. Conor Ellis scored four times, with Conor Coughlan, Jack Arra and John Mullane also on the mark.
In the Munster Champions Cup, Pike Rovers eased to victory against Munster Senior League champions Everton of Cork to set up a clash with St Michael’s in the next round. Aaron Murphy claimed a hat-trick while Kevin Barry and Danny O'Neill also scored.
