Another fatal accident in Tipp

Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision on New Road, Lisronagh in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Monday 21st November 2022.

The collision involved a motorcycle and a lorry and occurred at approximately 10:00am this morning.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, has been pronounced deceased. His body has been removed to Tipperary University Hospital.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The road is currently closed and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Local diversions are currently in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on New Road this morning are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Gardaí are particularly looking to speak with a number of motorists who may have been present at or driven past this collision to make contact with them.

This was the second Tipperary road death in 24 hours, following a suspected fatal hit and run road traffic collision that occurred at Clonmore, Templemore, in the early hours of Monday morning.
