A number of Christmas markets are taking place in parishes around Nenagh this coming weekend. Here is an example of some of the great attractions for those of you wishing to buy great festive presents and food:

BALLINDERRY CHRISTMAS MARKET

Plans are being put in place for this year’s Christmas Market in Ballinderry for Sunday December 4. With over 30 stalls in the village and a visit from Santa, it will be a great day out. Anyone interested in having a stall, please contact 087 2827735.

FESTIVE COOKERY EVENING IN TERRYGLASS

Celebrity TV chef Catherine Leydon will host a festive cookery evening in Terryglass Community Hall on Wednesday, November 30, at 8pm. Tickets cost €25 and are available from committee members or the Derg shop.

CHRISTMAS MARKET IN CLOUGHJORDAN

Cloughjordan Christmas Market will take place in Saint Kieran's Hall on Saturday, December 3, from 12 noon to 6pm. Items on sale will include Christmas gifts, local crafts and festive baking and food. The local ladies choir, the award-winning Mellow Tones, will sing some Christmas favourites at 4pm. The

Cloughjordan Christmas lights will be turned on at 5pm by members of the Kilruane MacDonaghs senior team. Kevin MacDonald will also be performing and Santa will take some time off from his busy schedule visit the market.

In conjunction with the Christmas Market, the Cloughjordan Community Development Association is holding a Dream Auction for 26 items, all of which have been donated by local businesses and residents. Items that can be bid on include a week's holiday in Kilkee, a Rolly Tractor worth €185, a jersey signed by the Kilruane MacDonaghs senior hurlers, a car or jeep valet, a visit to the Ros na Rún studio in Spiddal to meet the actors and have a part as an extra in one of the episodes of the popular TG4 soap opera.

CHRISTMAS FAIR IN RATHCABBIN

It’s all happening down Rathcabbin way where the local Development/Tidy Towns are working hard in preparation for their Christmas Fair, which takes place on Sunday, December 4, in Rathcabbin Community Hall. Come along and get your Christmas present from the crafts and gifts that will be on display from 5 to 7pm where there will be something for everyone and Santa will be there at 6.15pm to meet all the children too. There will also be a magic show at 5.30pm and to get you in the festive mood, you can enjoy music and a festive raffle.

The Christmas tree will light up the village, commencing with the big switch on at 7pm. Anyone who would like to have a craft table please call (087) 3902142 or Rathcabbin Tidy Towns. This will be a great evening out for all the family so do please come along and support local. All money raised goes back into the village upkeep.
