Tom honoured by fellow Nenagh Lions

Nenagh’s Tom Harrington received a special presentation recently to mark his four decades of service to the local Lions Club.

Mariea Flanagan, the current President of Nenagh Lions, presented Tom with a special certificate issued by the President of Lions Club International for his 40 years of service.

The Milestone Chevron Award to Tom was recently announced by the International President, Dr Jung-Yul Choi.

Dr Jung-Yul Choi said the Chevron Award is aptly named after the Chevron symbol, in reference to a badge or insignia indicating rank or length of service.

“Your commitment to providing many years of service as a member of our association is honourable and commendable,” Dr Jung-You Choi informed Tom in a letter.

“You have touched the lives of many. From the smallest project to the largest undertaking, your years of service have made an impact in your community.”

Dr Jung-Yul Choi said Lions Club International recognises the anniversaries of members like Tom because they are a reminder of a milestone in lives.

“The ripple effect of your service has touched the lives of many and given us the opportunity to celebrate, commemorate and continue to serve united in kindness and diversity to make the world a better place,” he said.

In congratulating Tom, he wished him many more healthy and happy years in continuing with his personals commitment and service.
