Lenten talks in Killaloe

Next up in the series of Lenten talks at St Flannan's Cathedral, Killaloe, is a talk by Larry de Cléir on Tuesday, March 14, at 7.30pm.

Larry is a psychotherapist, supervisor and facilitator, and is former Project Leader of Bedford Row Family Project in Limerick. He has supported families and children affected by imprisonment for over 30 years.

On Tuesday, March 21, Bernard Lynch will talk at the cathedral (also at 7.30pm). Bernard is an 'out' gay Irish-born Roman Catholic priest, author and activist, who has worked for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people for almost 50 years. He founded the first AIDS ministry in New York City and was drafted onto the Mayor of New York's Task Force on AIDS.

The fifth and final talk in the series takes place on Tuesday, March 28 (also at 7.30pm) with Tom Flynn of St Vincent de Paul the guest speaker. After working in a number of parishes in Waterford and Tipperary, Tom was appointed a chaplain to the Irish in New York from 1995 to 2022. He was instrumental in opening the Aisling Irish Community Centre in Yonkers in 1997. He worked as manager of the St Vincent de Paul Drop-In Centre in Limerick from 2002 to 2023.
