Killaloe girls school going for Munster Schools double
St Anne’s Community College Killaloe are aiming for a Munster Girls Senior Schools Cup final when they travel to Musgrave Park today (Wednesday).
The Senior Cup final at 2.30pm will be contested by reigning champions St Anne’s Community College and Ardscoil Mhuire from Limerick.
St Anne’s Community College beat Intermediate School Killorglin 27-5 in the semi-final with Rebecca Rogers and Amy Reilly scoring a brace of tries each for St Anne’s with Fionnuala O’Rahilly also getting on the scoresheet. Rogers also converted one of the tries.
In the other semi-final, last year’s finalists Bandon Grammar School drew 12-12 with Ardscoil Mhuire. However, the Limerick school advanced to their first Senior Cup final due to the first try scored ruling. Ardscoil Mhuire’s tries came thanks to a brace from Katie Hehir.
In the Junior Cup final which kicks-off at 12.30pm, St Anne’s, who were defeated in last years final, will take on Coláiste Ide from Dingle.
The Kerry school defeated St Joseph’s College from Borrisoleigh 51-17 in a highly entertaining semi-final in UL while St Anne’s Community College defeated Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí 36-15.
