Tipp Juniors chasing Munster Final spot

CAMOGIE: Munster Junior Championship Semi-Final Preview

TIPPERARY v CORK

Camogie Grounds, The Ragg

Saturday 6th May

Throw-in @ 2.30pm

Tipperary take on Cork this Saturday in the Munster Junior Championship semi-final, with the winner meeting Limerick in the final on May 21st.

Having finished strongly in the league with two wins on the trot at home to Wexford and away to Galway, Tipperary will be hoping they can reach the Munster final against what is Cork’s third team that is established just for this competition only and don’t play in the league or All-Ireland series.

Tipperary should have the advantage having been together since before Christmas and having had four games in the National League Division 2B League, plus numerous challenge games.

However, Cork is a massive camogie county with a conveyor belt of talented players coming through from All-Ireland winning under 16 and minor panels and no doubt they will come with a strong side to the Ragg on Saturday.

huge boost

A win for Tipperary will be a huge boost ahead of the upcoming All-Ireland championship. Along with a chance to win some much sought after silverware two weeks later in a Munster Final. Having tried a number of different players in the league, Saturday’s match will give the management team another opportunity to find their best fifteen ahead of the All-Ireland championship campaign.

Éire Óg Annacarty’s Jean Kelly starred in Tipp’s final league game she caused the Galway defence all kinds of problems and finished with 1-4. The team is captained by joint captains Ciannait Walsh and Claire Stakelum whose experience and leadership will be key on Saturday. Kilruane MacDonagh’s Lisa Cahill has carried her very good club form last season, likewise Drom & Inch’s Caroline Shanahan has also impressed so far in this year.
