Nenagh AFC 0-4 Pike Rovers

It is as you were in the Premier League with Pike and Fairview both adding three points, with Pike leaving Brickfields with a 4-0 win last Thursday.

Eoin Hanrahan scored a brace for the Hoops while Nathan O'Callaghan and a Danny O'Neill penalty kick saw them ease past Nenagh to maintain their one-point advantage with two games remaining.

Premier ‘A’ League

Newport Town’s hopes of pipping Geraldines at the post for the Premier ‘A’ League crown following results of the last couple of days.

On Thursday, Newport won their game in hand, beating Corbally United 1-0 through a Brian O’Sullivan goal to make sure the title race went to the final game.

Newport did their part by beating Fairview Rangers ‘B’ 2-1 thanks to goals from Jay Ryan and Elliot Slattery. However, Geraldines made no mistake, beating Cappamore 5-1 to win the title.

It was the same story in Division 2A, where Nenagh AFC ‘B’ were hoping leaders Corbally United ‘C’ might slip up in their last game to give them a chance of being crowned champions.

Nenagh navigated their task when they beat Meanus 4-1 thanks to goals from Darragh McDonnell (2), Kieran O'Brien and Tommy Martin were the Nenagh scorers.

However, it proved futile as Corbally ran up a big win against Janesboro to seal the deal.

Nenagh AFC ‘C’ had no answer against league champions Granville Rangers when they met in the Cup semi-final. Granville prevailed on a 4-0 scoreline.

The final game in the Under 17 Division 2 League proved a dramatic affair. Locked on points at the top of the table, Newport welcomed Murroe and after a thrilling tie, a 95th minute injury time goal by David O’Brien gave the Tipperary side the title.
