New Casual Trading Bye-Laws come into effect in Nenagh district

Following a public consultation process, new Casual Trading Bye-Laws for the Nenagh Municipal District were adopted in April.

A number of amendments were made, among them the exclusion of a proposal for a pitch in Terryglass. An additional pitch is to be included in Ballina.

These bye-laws will come into effect from June 1. Applications are now being invited from traders interested in obtaining casual trading licences to operate at the designated locations in the new bye-laws.

The council is inviting applications for Casual Trading Licences in respect of the following areas:

Dromineer, Clare Glens, Garrykennedy, Castlelough, Ballina Riverside Park, Newport, The Lookout.

Licences will apply to the end of 2023 only and have to be applied for an annual basis.

Arrangements are also being made for the establishment of a working group to examine potential for a market in Nenagh.
