The Irish Blood Transfusion service has issued an appeal for people to give blood at clinics in Thurles in the coming week.

The service issued a Pre-Amber Alert on May 29 as blood levels in hospitals ran critically low.

IBTS need to collect an extra 400 donations per week for the month of June. It is appealing to local blood donors to attend. New blood givers are welcome.

Blood can be given at The Dome, Semple Stadium, on Monday, Tuesday,, Wednesday, and Thursday, June 26 - 29 from 4.50pm to 8.10pm.
