Gardaí probe burglaries, litter offence and boat engine theft

Gardaí are investigating a report of an individual seen throwing litter from a car on a roadway in the Roscrea area.

The report was made on Friday last. Gardaí have the registration number of the vehicle and will be making follow-up inquiries.

An appeal for witness information has been made in relation to two burglaries reported in the district in recent days, one of which occurred in the Ballycommon area on Saturday, June 10. A number of people have been questioned by gardaí in relation to this incident.

The other burglary occurred at Birr Road, Roscrea, where a house was broken into on Thursday last. Entry was gained through the rear of the property and a number of items were stolen.

Another boat engine theft has been reported on Lough Derg, this time in the Dromineer area. There have been several similar incidents on the lake this year and gardaí are urging boat owners to regularly check on their craft and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Elsewhere, gardaí are investigating a criminal damage incident reported at Nenagh Railway Station on Monday, June 12. CCTV footage is being harvested and witnesses are sought.
