Go-ahead for Cloughjordan takeaway

Planning permission has been granted for a new takeaway restaurant in Cloughjordan.

Austin Supermarkets Ltd has received permission for a change of use from shop to takeaway restaurant at Main St. The development is to include the erection of an extension and ducting to the rear of the premises, refurbishment works and all associated site works.

The applicant, which owns the adjoining Centra shop, informed Tipperary Co Council that the standalone takeaway restaurant will have no eat-in facilities and will operate on demand-only production. The operation of the facility will require no more than two-to-three staff per work shift at maximum, serving a local predominantly evening-time trade.

Among the planning conditions imposed by the council is a restriction on opening hours from 8am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.
