A great show in Nenagh

“One of the best North Tipperary Shows in years” - that was the verdict of event Chairman, Brendan Murphy who said the fine weather brought the crowds flocking to Nenagh on August Bank Holiday Monday.

“We had an absolutely fantastic day and crowds were so large we actually ran out of space in the car parks,” a delighted Mr Murphy told The Guardian.

Mr Murphy said entries were well up, particularly in the horticulture and cattle sections.

“We had a record entry of 387 vehicles for our classic car display and people came from as far away as Cork and Donegal.

“Wooly Pet Farm from Moneygall proved to be a huge attraction for children, and there was a great atmosphere with our live Country Music performances.

“People were waltzing and jiving on the grass and our kids fancy dress proved highly popular also.

“It was certainly one our best shows since we started out all those years ago in 1875,” said Mr Murphy.
