FBD INSURANCE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Last weekend saw Round 2 of the FBD Insurance hurling championships taking place across the county. See match reports and round-ups

The focus next weekend will once again be on the senior and intermediate football championships as a full round of games will take place over the course of the weekend.

ARRABAWN & JOHN DOYLE UNDER 15 Hurling competitions

The 2023 Arrabawn and John Doyle U15 Hurling Competitions were launched at Ballykisteen Hotel on Sunday evening. The competitions are to be hosted this year by four West Tipperary clubs on Saturday, 26th August, Cappawhite, Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams, Clonoulty-Rossmore and Cashel King Cormacs with the first games throwing in at 11.00am.

AIB Munster Club Hurling & Football Championship Draws

The draws for the 2023 AIB Munster Club Hurling and Football Championships took place at a meeting of the Munster CCC on Thursday last.

By virtue of reaching the All-Ireland Senior Finals, Limerick (hurling) and Kerry (football) received a bye to the semi-final of the respective Hurling and Football Championships.

The Munster Club Championships will get underway on the weekend of November 4th/5th in hurling with football starting the following weekend with all six Munster Club Finals scheduled for the first two weekends of December. All games will be played to a result on the day.

In Senior Hurling, the Waterford champions will have a home fixture versus the Cork representatives in the quarter-final with the Limerick champions awaiting the winner in the semi-final. In the other semi-final, the Tipperary champions will host the Clare champions.

In Senior Football, Tipperary’s champions will host Limerick champions in the first quarter-final with the Kerry representatives awaiting the winner in the semi-final. At the other side of the draw, the Cork representatives will host the Clare champions in a quarter-final with the Waterford champions awaiting the winner in the semi-final.

In Intermediate Hurling, quarter finals – Tipperary v Clare, Waterford v Crotta O’Neill’s (Kerry), Semi-finals – Limerick v Tipperary or Clare, Cork v Waterford or Kerry.

In Intermediate Football, quarter finals – Cork v Clare, Tipperary v Waterford; Semi-Finals – Kerry v Cork or Clare, Limerick v Tipperary or Waterford,

In Junior Hurling, quarter finals – Tralee Parnells (Kerry) v Clare, Waterford v Cork; Semi-finals – Limerick v Kerry or Clare, Tipperary v Waterford or Cork

In Junior Football – Quarter finals – Waterford v Clare, Tipperary v Cork, Semi-finals – Kerry v Waterford or Clare, Limerick v Tipperary or Cork.

Tipperary Clubs Draw

The all new Tipperary Clubs Draw for 2023/2024 has been launched and membership forms have been distributed to each club in the county. If you have not yet joined the draw you can do so by contacting your local club. Alternatively, you can contact the Tipperary GAA office on 0504 22702 and the staff in Lar Na Pairce will be delighted to assist you with your application.

Semple Stadium Field Day 2023

On Saturday, September 2nd, Tipperary GAA and sponsors Fiserv will come together with an aim of raising as much funds as possible, to be shared between The Dillon Quirke Foundation & Cliona’s Foundation

The event will take place in and around Semple Stadium and will consist of :

• 10am – 3pm – Under 9 Hurling Blitz in Dr Morris Park followed by 5 minute games for each in Semple Stadium

• 11am – 2pm – Semple TStadium ours by County Team for each team

• 11am – 6-8km Fun Walk/Run – Start & Finish in Semple Stadium.
