Annual Sensory Friendly Family Fun Day

Autism Awareness Roscrea held their Annual Sensory Friendly Family Fun Day in the Sacred Heart Primary School on Sunday, August 13.

On the day, there was lots of activities, including creative arts, face-painting, DJ Hynsey Experience, storytelling, Lego building and mini treatments, to name a few! We also had three local sports clubs, Killavilla United, Roscrea Rugby Club and Roscrea Raiders Basketball in attendance to give taster sessions. We also had some quiet areas with storytelling and chill-out zones for those attending to relax in! Joan from How Ya Bean was there too, providing much-needed refreshments!

There was great support from the local community and further afield, with lots of families attending.

We would like to thank all those who did attend and hope you enjoyed the day!

Days like these would not be possible without our army of willing volunteers, and local businesses who also helped on the day.

Special thanks to all who helped on the day, but particularly to Sacred Heart School for allowing us to use the venue and their caretaker Sean, who was on hand to help in every possible way!

Thanks to Fitzgerald Vets and Dimma Print for allowing parking at their premises, and to Mike Edwards, who looked after any minor bumps and bruises on the day.

This event was kindly supported by Tipperary County Council and Creative Ireland.
