Scariff Show 2023 – Sunday, September 3

Scariff Show returns on Sunday, September 3, for its 78th year.

This year’s event promises to be a great one with even more on offer than last year’s very successful outing. Our 2022 show saw many people return to the show for the first time in years and had many families attend for the very first time - feedback was great and we have taken all of that on board to produce an even better event for you all this year.

New elements of the show for 2023 include Sheep Classes, a Magic Show, Live Music as well as new Indoor classes for folks with additional needs, and our first turn at Cob and Coloured Pony Classes.

This is in addition to last year’s big hit newcomer, Kidstown, which was a roaring success and will be returning for 2023. The support of the community means everything to us in the success of our annual show, and as many will know, the show is run in most part by families, many of whom have been involved across generations. This is why our show is a great day out for the whole family, from the little ones all the way up to those in their twilight years.

For this year’s Dog Show (starting at 1pm), we have 20 classes, something for every four-legged (or less) friend; you would have to be barking mad not to enter!

Our Sheep section consists of five classes for its first outing, and sure ewe would be maaa-d not to! We have our usual excellent range of Showjumping and Horse Showing Classes, including Connemara Ponies, Local Ponies, Mare and Foal Classes, and Coloured and Cob classes - hot to trot.

There are some major prizes up for grabs in the Mare and Foal showing classes this year with several classes having prize funds of €1,000 - including stallion nominations and cash prizes.

Last but not least, our Indoor section includes baking, farm produce, arts and crafts, photography and more for all ages - you wouldn’t believe the cabbages we’ve seen - and the cakes, oh my!

NEW CLASS this year

This year we are adding a new class to the adult section sponsored by the Scariff ICA, the Homemade Tea Cosy competition.

This year’s show takes place on Sunday, September 3, with the field opening to the public from 9.30am.

We are making strong efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and, as such, are encouraging local traders to join us on the day (via application form) as well as for all of you to make your entries online at www.scariffshowsociety.com where possible.

Trader applications and entry forms can also be filled in or downloaded from the website or found in Banes Giftshop - Scariff, Scariff Post Office and Feakle Post Office. No entries will be taken on the day and our absolute final cut-off for entries was 11.59pm on Tuesday, August 29.

Hoping to see you all there for an even bigger and better show than 2022!
