NTDC set to launch annual report

Event takes place at at Ploughing Championships

North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC) are to launch their 2022 Annual Report in the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) Stand at the Ploughing Championships at 1pm on Wednesday, September 20, next.

Jim Finn, Chairperson states: “In 2022 NTDC conducted almost 40,000 separate actions and interventions that supported 3,324 people and 185 local groups, assisted over 200 jobseekers into employment and self-employment, ran over 80 courses and managed 16 programmes on behalf of public funders. As well as outlining the wide range of impacts across employment, well-being, inclusion, domestic safety, rural enterprise, community services, youth services, energy, environment and asylum and migrant support services.”

Michael Murray, CEO, outlined his appreciation of the Board of Directors, volunteers and colleagues who make up our 70 staff and 220 employment programme participants, and stated that none of the work would be possible without the funding agencies/departments and their staff members who support NTDC’s work. He would like to especially thank Tipperary County Council, members of the Tipperary LCDC, DRCD, Tusla, HSE, DSP, TETB, Department of Justice, SEAI, DCEDIY and other funders for the support in ensuring that resources were made available to support the communities of North Tipperary during 2022.

NTDC is a local development company and provides programmes in childcare/creches, youth services, training, job supports, community development services including SICAP, enterprise supports and grants, counselling and family supports, health and wellbeing supports, the Ascend domestic abuse service, older person services, social enterprise, rural development including LEADER, and asylum and migrant support services. The Company has main offices in Nenagh, Thurles and Roscrea and delivers outreach supports across North Tipperary.

Nancy White, Company Secretary, paid a special word of thanks to Chairperson Jim Finn whose term of office expires soon. She added: “Jim’s input is impossible to quantify but the impacts of his skilful stewarding of the ship will be felt across North Tipperary for many years to come.”

The Irish Local Development Network CLG (ILDN), of which NTDC is a member, is the representative body for Ireland’s Local Development Companies (LDCs). These 49 not-for-profit groups are building inclusive, vibrant communities and better life chances for people in every part of Ireland. They assist communities and disadvantaged persons/groups with personal development and well-being, social inclusion, employment training and placement, enterprise and social enterprise, community development, environment, and climate action.
