Fianna Fáil has new election candidate in Templemore
Deirdre Ryan has been selected by Fianna Fáil to run in the Thurles-Templemore District for next year’s Local Elections.
The mum-of-three is well known for her role in the ‘We Just Want to Swim’ campaign which was successful in opening up lessons for the schools at the Garda College in Templemore.
She is a local psychotherapist and is coach with BT Harps, Templemore Ladies Football and is part of the Mothers and Others Loughmore-Castleiney Group.
Born and raised in Templemore, Deirdre hopes to create vibrant and dynamic communities where people love to live, work and play.
Deirdre spoke to Tánaiste Micheal Martin after the recent Fianna Fáil party think-in at the Horse and Jockey and found him to be very supportive of local issues.
The Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Sean Fleming, accompanied Deirdre on her first canvas in Templemore, where the public gave her a warm welcome.
